Alcolock

Alcolock has known in the USA and Canada since 1980 as a part of the judgment for drunken driving. A report from the European Union shows approx. 13,000 deaths each year because of drunk driving. In Sweden there are about 14.000 drunken drivers on the roads every day and in fatal accidents every fourth driver has alcohol in their blood. In single fatal accidents almost every second driver is influenced by alcohol.

Studies clearly show that the Alcolock fulfills its function and stops risky driving. In Sweden, all project participants have kept the Alcolock after the trial period. After this project has been implemented and evaluated, the number of vehicles with the Alcolock is increased steadily.

Many companies see the Alcolock both as a quality instrument and that it helps to improve the Company goodwill essential. All airport buses in Sweden must have the Alcolock installed from next year. Swebus are at the moment negotiating to introduce the Alcolock on all buses in Sweden.

Bus passenger and the parents who send their children on the bus will experience an increased sense of security.

The European Union is working on a European standard for the Alcolock

In October 2004 a European project was started regarding the Alcolock in Norway, Spain, Germany and Belgium.
